Reconsidering the shop

I know, I said I wouldn’t be reactivating the shop, but the software is all set up. I’ve adjusted the stock to reflect what I actually have here. So I’m reconsidering the shop.

reconsidering the shop

There are books available, and some greeting cards. I have more images to use, and I’ve had some images printed onto blocked canvases.

What would you like to see?

The greeting cards were relatively successful, and I’m waiting to see if the canvases sell through Franco’s restaurant. They have five on the wall, and we’re hoping they do well. If you pop in, each canvas is £30, just ask the staff.

As I am also working out of the house for 3 days each week, I’ll have to consider how and when to dispatch orders. It’ll be a small operation to start with, with just the stock I have here. We’ll see how it goes and if it’s worth continuing.

The shop is still here, just hidden. The question of where to fit it into the new design is still being decided. A separate menu at the top? A new side bar? On the left, top, or right? Featured on the front page? Leave the blog on the front and have the shop elsewhere? It all needs to be taken into account when reconsidering the shop.

I’ll keep you posted.

All new greeting cards

Black & White Thistledown

Fitting this in around other stuff going on isn’t always easy, and I am aware that sometimes the website suffers as a result. But I hope there are still a few of you who wander in to see what I’m up to from time to time.

This week I have been sorting, packaging, cataloguing, and listing the new greeting cards for you. I also adjusted the postage so that, unless you order loads, it’ll be free postage as long as you live in the UK. Free postage will be simple second class post, but if you’d rather your order was tracked please make sure you select that option. There will be a small postage charge for that upgrade, but it’s entirely up to you.

In the gallery below you will find all the new designs, and they can all be found on the Greeting cards shop page.

New cards just arrived!

Black & White Thistledown

A lovely box of new card designs arrived this morning, and I’ll be adding them to the shop in the next few days.

Bear in mind I’ve been adjusting the postage rates, so orders with a small number of cards should work out as free postage. If it doesn’t please let me know and I’ll play with it until it works! Free postage will be sent second class with no tracking or signature. This is at your own risk, and tracked is available too, it’s your choice.

In the meantime you can see the designs in the gallery below, I hope you like them.

When your cards arrive, the watermark will not be there. I only add it to protect my designs when they’re online. If you want to use any of my images for anything, please ask. I’ll need to know what you want them for, and how you’re planning to use them, but I’ll look at each request on its’ own merits.

All done, for this year.

Well, that’s that for another year. The final assignment is handed in and there’s no more editing, nothing more to be done. It’s either good enough, or it isn’t. (this is the moment when I suddenly realise I should have said something in the report, or could have said things better… It’s always the way the mind works.)

But it’s done, handed in, and out of my hands now, which means I can turn my mind to other things. Like which images to include in the next round of greeting cards!

Possible images can be seen in the gallery below, and I will consider other suggestions as well. You know, if you want trees, or a beach, or hot air balloons, or something. If it’s something I can get to, and if I can get a good shot, then I’ll consider it. No promises, but I’ll consider the suggestion.

What I’d like you to do is have a look at the gallery and let me know which images you would like to see as greeting cards. I want to pick a maximum of 10 and to be able to offer packs as well as single cards. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Reflection in a Cat’s eye

I love this photograph of my cat, which is why I decided to include it in the initial range of greetings cards. I was adjusting and testing some settings on the camera, and she wanted to get in on the action. I did manage to narrowly avoid having her nose print on the lens!

But look at her left eye.

See? A reflection of my hands and camera, captured in the pupil of my cat’s eye.
