Birds of Prey

Birds of prey are rare in the wild, but if you look in the right places they can be seen. Red kites and common buzzards regularly fly over my house and garden in South Wales. They’re usually soaring so high it’s impossible to catch them with the camera and lenses I have available.

The majestic intelligence of these birds makes them stunning to photograph. While on the Isle of Wight I had the chance to visit the Haven Falconry Centre and photograph some birds up close, and in flight. They move so incredibly fast that most pictures were not as sharp as I like. But a few turned out reasonably good.
